Thamnophis sirtalis concinnus Polk Co., Oregon. April 29, 2007 For years I've looked at pictures of Oregon Redspots in fieldguides and other books and wished for the opportunity to see one in the field. That opportunity came my way during a visit to Oregon in 2007. I didn't just see one, but dozens of them, and it was a tremendously exciting day for me. This species sports quite a bit of variation, but every snake was a raging beauty. The top photo is the first concinnus I found; the bottom photo is the next! Related Herp Journal:
