Herpetofauna: One Life's List

Lampropeltis triangulum gentilis
Central Plains Milksnake

Lincoln Co., Kansas. May 18, 2004

We found a lot of interesting milk snakes in Kansas, interesting in that no two looked alike.  Although we found a number of milk snakes that day, this little yearling gentilis was the first one I myself found, under a large stone.  With any luck it's still there, growing big on baby lizards and small Ringneck snakes.
