Herpetofauna: One Life's List

Eumeces inexpectatus
Southeastern Fivelined Skink

Wakulla Co., Florida
March 22, 2006

I  had to grab up this lizard to make a correct identification - they look a lot like Five Lined Skinks.  The defining difference lies in the scales underneath the tail; inexpectatus has scales of uniform size, while Eumeces fasciatus has a row of wide scales down the middle.
