Herpetofauna: One Life's List

Pseudacris ocularis
Little Grass Frog

Okefenokee Swamp, Georgia
March 1978

I saw a number of these tiny frogs a few miles outside of the swamp all those many years ago.  They seem to travel in small groups, so to speak - at first I thought I had stumbled into a flight of small grasshoppers.

Twenty five years later I was able to get pictures of several of these frogs when I returned to the swamp.  This little guy was photographed on the road leading into Stephen Foster State Park, on the western side of the Okefenokee.  It was a rainy night in Georgia, further documented in my Frogwalk journal entry.
