Gastrophryne olivacea
Val Verde Co., Texas We heard large numbers of these plain little frogs calling in the raodside ditches of west Texas - their call is like a high-pitched sheep bleating. We managed to find one on the road but missed an opportunity for a picture. Here is a specimen from Kansas exhibiting the 'unken reflex' where the body is held rigidly in an unnaturally curved position.
