Herpetofauna: One Life's List

Oreobates quixensis
Big-Headed Rain Frog

Depto Loreto, Peru
January 9, 2011

A frog (Strabomantidae) that looks like a toad, Oreobates is covered with warts and tubercules, including its fingers and toes.  Quite common on forest trails, ant hills, treefalls, anywhere the earth is exposed and laid bare.  They blend in quite well.
